In November of 2017, Kelly Kicking Cancer donated another $25,000 to the Houston Methodist Kenneth R. Peak Brain & Pituitary Tumor Treatment Center to further their study on brain cancer research.  Our goal is to eradicate brain cancer one day. Meeting with Dr. Mauro Ferrari, PH.D. at Houston Methodist

In November of 2017, Kelly Kicking Cancer again visited the Peak Center, this time to speak with Dr. Mauro Ferrari, president and CEO of Houston Methodist.

"We are using genomics and proteomics to build personalized treatment plans- characterizing the genetic tumor profile and performing high throughput chemotherapeutic agent screens to predict efficacy. Our research is also developing novel approaches to fighting cancer, including mitochondrial smart bombs, nanosyringes for efficient drug delivery, drug pump inhibitors to trap chemotherapy in cancer cells, and gene therapy approaches."

The Kelly Kicking Cancer Research Committee

The research committee works diligently to find new and innovative brain cancer research for Kelly Kicking Cancer to support.
In June 2016, in honor of Kelly C. O’Mahoney, Kelly Kicking Cancer wrote a check for $25,000 to Methodist Hospital Foundation’s Kenneth R. Peak Brain and Pituitary Tumor Treatment Center in Houston, TX for advanced brain cancer research. This is the first of two annual grants to be awarded in 2016 to The Center for research geared specifically towards brain cancer.
